V.V.S.Laxman is likely to return for Eden Test

After tasting a heavy defeat by an inning and six runs in the first test match at Nagpur, Indians is delighted that their stylish middle order batsman V.V.S.Laxman has recovered well and now ready to play against South Africa in the second test match at Kolkata.

V.V.S. Laxman who missed India’s last two test matches because of finger injury will be eager to play at his favorite Venue Eden Garden Kolkata, where he and Rahul Dravid created history in 2001 series against Australians.

Harbhajan Singh will be also keen to get his form back on a venue where he became the first Indian to take hat-trick in test cricket for India.

India must wins at Eden if they would like to retain their top ICC Ranking in test cricket. With star batsmen Rahul Dravid and Yuvraj Singh ruled out of the series with injuries, Laxman was sorely missed in Nagpur as India crashed for 233 and 319 in reply to South Africa’s 558-6 declared.

So far V.V.S.Laxman has scored 6,993 runs with an average of 45.70 in 109 tests with 14 centuries to his name. He needs just seven runs to get pass 7000 run mark in test cricket.
