IPL twenty20 2011 Schedule and Match results

Fourth edition of IPL twenty20 2011 will consist of 10 teams with two new team Pune Warriors India and Kochi Tusker introduced from this edition of IPL.  There will be total 74 games will be played in this year of IPL on 12 venues.

The IPL 2011 will start from April 8th with the game between defending Champion Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders at Chennai while IPL will ends on 28th May 2011.

Final of IPL will be played on 28th May at M.Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.  This edition of IPL will also have strategic timeout as it was in last two editions of IPL. The timeout – which will be mandatory for both sides – will be split into two breaks of equal length with the bowling team opting for it between overs 6-10, and the batting team allowed to choose between overs 11-16.

There will be no semi final in this edition of IPL, instead there will be two qualifying matches and one eliminator will be played to decide who will play in the Final of IPL 2011.

Each team will take on each other twice before reaching to the business end of the tournament. Top four teams with highest number of points and superior net run rate will go through to the next round.

First Qualifier (between 1st and 2nd placed team) will be played on 24th May 2011 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai then there will be Eliminator between 3rd and fourth placed team will be played on 25th May at same venue. Then there will be another qualifier will be played to decide on the third team of Champions League twenty20 between winner of Eliminator and Loser of Qualifier1.
