India v Bangladesh 2nd Test at Mirpur – India look for clean sweep
By Rajeev on Jan 24, 2010 in Uncategorized
After winning the first game now India will aim for 2-0 clean sweep against the Bangladesh Lions in the second test match to be played at Mirpur. Indian team doesn’t put better performance as expected in the first test but because of some bad shot selection by Bangladeshi batsmen and some good quality bowling from Indian bowlers, India able to win the first test match by 113 runs.
But in second test India doesn’t want to loose any opportunity of considering this game as their practice before the big test series against South Africa. Having said that it will be not easy for the Indians as Bangladesh bowlers are in good rhythm and they need some support from their batsmen to put on big score on the board.
India will go into this game without S.Srrsanth and V.V.S Laxman as both has been already ruled out of the playin XI because of injury. However Indian team will be boosted by the return of their charismatic captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and off-spinner Harbhajan Singh that means Dinesh Karthik will have to sit out for Dhoni and M.Vijay will replace Laxman in the squad.
Indian batsmen are in good form and they would love to repeat the performance of 2007 when they have posted a huge first inning total of 610 for three declared. Sachin Tendulkar will look this game as golden opportunity to add another century to his name.
Except Yuvraj Singh who manages just 12 and 25 runs in the two innings at Chittagong, each player’s looks in good touch. Gautam Gambhir will be most excited batsman among all as he will look forward to equals the world record of Sir Donald Bradman by scoring a century in this game. If he will able to achieve the feet then he will be only players after Donald Bradman to score century in six consecutive innings.
Bangladesh on the other hand looks to improve on their batting, especially they would expect their captain Shakib Al Hasan and Md. Ashraful to atleast score century in this game to put pressure on the Indians.
Likely Playing XI for both Teams (Match is Schedule to begin at 08:30 AM India Time)
India Squad: V.Sehwag, G.Gambhir, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, M.Vijay, Yuvraj Singh, M.S.Dhoni (Captain & WK), H.Singh, A.Mishra, Z.Khan, Ishant Sharma.
