India tour of South Africa 2010/11 Fixtures
By admin on Jan 21, 2011 in Uncategorized
Just before the start of World Cup 2011, India will head to South Africa for 50 days cricket series. This will be the last series for India before the world cup and it will be great opportunity for Dhoni and their men to tighten the screw on those areas where they were lacking.
This will be no way one sided series since India is number one ranked team in Test Cricket, while South Africa is at 2nd position so we will witness another fascinating game of cricket in this series.
India will play three match test series, only one twenty20 internationals and five match ODI series. The tour will begin with the two warm-up games. Then they will move on to play first match of the test series at SuperSport Park, Centurion from 16th-20th December 2010. The second test match is scheduled to play from 26th to 30th of December 2010 at Kingsmead, Durban while Newlands, Capetown will host the last match of the series from 2nd to 6th January 2011.
After test series is finished, India will play only one twenty20 internationals against the home team South Africa on 9th January 2011 at newly created venue which was used for 2010 Fifa World Cup. The newly created stadium is expected to pull the biggest crowd to ever watch a cricket match in South Africa.
Then, India will start their ODi series from 12th of January 2011 at Kinsmead, Durban. The 2nd ODI will be played on 15th of January at Johannesburg. Third, Fourth and Fifth one day matches will be played on 18th, 21st and 23rd of January at Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and Centurion respectively.
So far India never manage to win the test series in South Africa but by considering the current Indian team performance in last two year or so, another cracking encounter on card.
