India ODI Squad announced for South Africa Series

Indian selectors announced the 15 member One day international squad on Tuesday in which they have recalled Yusuf Pathan after his stunning performance in the domestic arena. The major blow to the India is that they will miss the service of Gautam Gambhir because of groin injury, Yuvraj Singh because he is yet to recover from wrist injury which occurred during Bangladesh series.

Harbhajan Singh will also not take part in the first two ODI’s because of his sister marriage. So by considering all this selectors have named R.Ashwin into the squad in place of Harbhajan Singh.

Surprise inclusion in the squad was Abhishek Nayar, who after having dropped from the team called back into the squad again. S.Sreesanth and Ishant Sharma also dropped from the ODI squad after their poor show in Bangladesh tri-angular series.

Yusuf Pathan inclusion was almost certain with two century in the Duleep Trophy final abut he strengthens his inclusion with the 40 ball century for Baroda in their Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Maharashtra on a day when selectors sits to pick the squad.

ODI series between India and South Africa will begin from February 21^st 2010 in Jaipur while the second ODI will be played on 24^th February in Kanpur and last ODI will be played on 27^th of February in Ahmedabad.

For India, Zaheer Khan is ruled out of the series in place of him now S.Sreesanth will play while South African Captain Graeme Smith is ruled out of the series and now J.Kallis will lead the side and Hashim Amla will replace Smith for ODI series.

South Africa ODI squad: Loots Bosman, Johan Botha, Mark Boucher (WK), AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, Herschelle Gibbs, Jacques Kallis (Captain), Albie Morkel, Morne Morkel, Wayne Parnell, Alviro Petersen, Dale Steyn, Lonwabo Tsotsobe, Roelof van der Merwe, Hashim Amla.
