Virendra Sehwag the most dangerous batman of modern era also known as Viru. He is treated as one of the most hard-hitting opening batsman of all time. Some of the experts also went ahead to compare him with Sir Vivian Richards.

In April 2009, Virendra Sehwag became the only Indian to be honored as the Wisden Leading Cricketer in the World for his performance in year 2008.

Virendra Sehwag brilliance has no word to describe, his strike rates in test cricket are far better than any other players who have played the test cricket. Sachin Tendulkar (13,234 runs at 55.37) has a strike-rate of 54.12, Ricky Ponting (11,859 runs at 55.67) scores at a rate of 59.60, Matthew Hayden (8625 runs at 50.73) got his at 60.10, and Brian Lara (11,953 runs at 52.88) at 60.51. Sanath Jayasuriya comes closest, with a strike-rate of 65.10, but his average is just over 40.

Virendra Sehwag holds multiple records for the highest score made by an Indian batsman in Test Cricket (319 runs), which was also the fastest triple century in the history of international cricket (reached 300 runs of just 278 deliveries) as well as the fastest 250 runs by any batsman (in 207 balls against Sri Lanka on 3rd December 2009 in the 3rd test match played at Brabourne stadium in Mumbai).

Virendra Sehwag also came very close to world record of scoring three triple centuries in test cricket (but out on 293 runs) so at presently he shared the record with two other batsman of scoring two triple century in test cricket. But he is the only test cricketer to score two triple centuries and taken five wicket in an inning.

He also holds the record of scoring fastest century by an Indian batsman in ODI. He has achieved the feet in March 2009 against New Zealand in just 60 balls.

With some poor performance during year 2007 he was dropped from the team but made a strong comeback in the 2008 on the tour of Australia where he scored century at Adielade Test against the mighty Australians. Since he is going strong in all formats of the game.

A stylish left hander born on 12th December 1981, he came to the light with a superb knock of 85 runs of just 82 balls in his second ODI against quality Australian bowling attack in the 2000 ICC Champions Trophy.

He is treat to watch while playing the pace attack however he looks little vulnerable while facing the spinners. And only because of this problem he was dropped from the squad on quite few occasions in his early part of his career. However with time it seems that he has improved his weakness and now looks more stylish players in ODI and T20 format of the game.

After retirement of Sourav Gannguly he now a regular member of the test squad also but he is yet to make his mark in longer version of the game in comparison to what he has done in ODI and T20.

He has good all-rounder ability with bat and ball. He is ranked 4th greatest fielder in the world. In the inaugural twenty20 world cup 2007 he hit six sixes of England fats bowler Stuart Broad to get in the lime light and also went on to score the quickest half-century of just 12 balls, which is highest in any form of the game. Yuvraj Singh also scored 70 runs off 30 balls and went on to claim the Man of the Match against Australia in the World Twenty20 semifinals at Durban.

Now he is the regular and most dependable player of the Indian team.

Rahul Dravid also known as the Wall of Indian cricket is one of the most prolific batsman India have ever produced. He is the regular member of Indian team in test side since 1996. He was also appointed the captain of Indian cricket team in October 2005 and he resigned from the post in September 2007.

His team mates use to call him the wall because he has the ability to bat for longer duration as and when his team required. He is the second Indian batsman after Sachin Tendulkar to score more than 12000 runs in test cricket and fifth in the world to score that much of runs at international level.

His achievement in ODI’s is also phenomenal with more than 10000 runs to his name and on 14th February 2007, he became the sixth player in the history of ODI cricket to score more than 10000 runs and only third Indian after Sachin and Sourav Ganuly.

He is the first batsman to score test century against all 10 test playing nation. He also currently holds the record of most number of catches in test cricket with 191 catches to his name.

Till now he is going strong in test cricket and with his fitness he is still looking strong to play for more than two-three years from now on.
