India tour of West Indies 2011 Schedule »

Just after completion of hectic IPL season four, Indian cricket team will tour West Indies for exciting series, where they will play one twenty20 internationals, five ODI matches and three test matches.

Twenty20 is scheduled to be played in Trinidad on 4th of June 2011, while one day internationals will be played on 6th, 8th, 11th, 13th and 16th of June at Trinidad, Antigua and Jamaica.

Three match test series will be hosted by Jamaica, Barbados and Dominica. First test match will begin from 20th June 2011 to 24th June 2011 while second test match will be played on 28th June to 2nd July 2011 and last & final test match will be played from  6th July to 10th July 2011.

India ODI and Test Squad for West Indies Tour »

The World Champion India will travel to West Indies for Only T20I, Five match ODI series and three match test series. But all the matches they will play without the service of some of there prime players. Gautam Gambhir, Virendra Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Sachin Tendulkar all will miss the tour of West Indies because of injury or rest as asked by some of the players.

Players like Dhoni, Zaheer Khan will not feature in ODI matches but included in test squad. But Sachin Tendulkar as requested by him is given the much needed rest by the Indian selectors.

Gautam Gambhir who initially named as India Captain to lead the team in the absence of Dhoni will now miss the tour because of shoulder injury, Yuvraj Singh is suffering from respiratory infection while Virendra Sehwag underwent shoulder surgery which atleast need 6-8 weeks to heal.

However there are lots of players who have got the opportunity in the absence of regular members of Indian squad. Players like Rohit Sharma, Manoj Tiwary, S.Badrinath all included in the ODI squad to get the taste of International games against West Indies.

Badrinath also able to get a call in the test squad in the absence of little master Sachin Tendulkar. Virat Kohli who has done so well for India in limited over also included in the test squad. Abhinav Mukund a 21-year-old left-hand batsman has impressive first-class numbers to back him: an average close to 60 over 40 matches and 13 centuries, including a triple-ton also included in the test squad.

 

In all, India will play ODI series without the service of Sachin Tendulkar, M.S.Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan, Gautam Gambhir, Virendra Sehwag and Ashish Nehra. And they will play test series without Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir, Virendra Sehwag and C.Pujara.

India tour of England 2011 Schedule »

India will travel to England for 60 days long tour where they will play four test matches, one twenty20 internationals and five one day internationals. Tour will start from July 15th with the practice game against Somerset and will end with the 5th ODI against England September 16th 2011.

The venue for four test matches will be Lords, Trent Bridge, Edgbaston and Oval. Twenty20 match will be played at Old Trafford, Manchester and five one day game will be played at Chester-le-Street, The Rose Bowl, Kennington Oval, Lords and Cardiff.

Last time when India toured England they manage to beat England in test series by 1-0 but lost the ODI series by 2-3 but with current form and performance from the players of both sides it will be one of the interesting encounters.

Sri Lanka tour of England 2011 Schedule »

England Cricket board announced the English summer cricket fixture which includes the matches against Sri Lanka and India. Both Asian teams will travel to England in 2011 to play twenty20 internationals, ODI series as well as test series against England cricket team.

Sri Lanka will start their tour with the three match test series. First match of the test series will start from 26th May 2011 at Cardiff, second match will be hosted by Lords from 3rd to 7th June while for the first time Rose Bowl will host third test macth between England & Sri Lanka from 16th to 20th June.

Only T20I will be played on 25th June at Bristol. Five matches ODI series will be played on 28th June, 1st July, 3rd July, 6th July and 9th July at Kennington Oval, Headingley, Lords, Trent Bridge, Old Trafford respectively.

IPL 2011 Highest Run getter and Wicket takers »

Just like the previous three IPL seasons, in IPL 2011 also there is an award for player scoring most number as well as for player taking most number of wickets in the tournament.

For player scoring most number of runs, he will be awarded Orange Cap while player taking most number of wickets will be handed Purple cap.

IPL 2008 Season award winner

S.Tanveer has been awarded the Purple Cap for taking the most number of wickets in the tournament. He has taken 22 wickets in 11 matches.

Shaun Marsh has been awarded Orange Cap for scoring most number of runs in the tournament. He has scored 616 runs in 11 matches with an Average of 56.00.

IPL 2009 Season award winner

R.P.Singh has been awarded the Purple Cap for taking the most number of wickets in the tournament. He has taken 23 wickets in 16 matches at an average of 18.13.

Mathew Hayden has been awarded Orange Cap for scoring most number of runs in the tournament. He has scored 572 runs in 12 matches with an Average of 52.00.

IPL 2010 Season award winner

P.Ojha has been awarded the Purple Cap for taking the most number of wickets in the tournament. He has taken 21 wickets in 16 matches at an average of 20.42.

Sachin Tendulkar has been awarded Orange Cap for scoring most number of runs in the tournament. He has scored 618 runs in 15 matches with an Average of 47.53.
