A Superb bowling performance by Royal Challengers Bangalore, including a hat-trick by Praveen Kumar helped Bangalore to beat Rajatshan Royals by 10 wickets to register their second consecutive win in IPL season3.
With fine bowling effort they were able to bundle out Rajasthan Royals for way below score of 92 runs and then chase down the target with ease in just 10.4 overs with 10 wickets still in their bag. Manish Pandey (42 runs of 30 balls) and Jaques Kallis (44 runs of 34 balls) once again stared with the bat. Imfact the orange cap holder Jaques Kallis is still to be dismissed in the tournament.
With this loss Rajasthan Royals are looking down the barrel and they don’t have any other option than start winning the matches they play now onwards if they would like to make it into the last four of IPL 2010.
After winning the toss Anil Kumble has no hesitation in electing to field first, his decision was proved right with some clever bowling from Dale Styen and Praveen Kumar at the beginning both doesn’t allow Rajatshan Royals batsmen to get away with some tight line and length.
The pressure was so much that they started to play wrong shot and throw their wickets away. It was once again left to Yusuf Pathan to give Rajasthan Royals some hope of putting a challenging total on the board but unfortunately the big hitter once again run out and that left Rajatshan Royals in dier state.
Jaques Kallis began the slide for Rajasthan Royals after their openers saw out a probing opening spell from Styen and P.Kumar. Captain Anil Kumble and Kallis struck in tandem as the Rajsthan Royals slumped, before a misjudged single brought an end to Yusuf Pathan’s promising innings.
Praveen Kumar returned for his second spell and snared D.Martyn, Sumit Narwal and Paras Dogra off successive deliveries to spark off wild celebrations before Kumble wrapped up the innings. Praveen gave away 18 runs from his four overs along with three wickets and Kumble took 3-9 while Kallis picked up two wickets.
In the next game Royal Challengers Bangalore will take on Mumbai Indians in their next game on 20th of March at Mumbai while Rajasthan Royals will take on Kolkata Knight Riders on 20th of March at Ahmedabad.
Jaques Kallis was adjudged Man of the Match for his allround performance with both bat and ball.
