It seems that Australia are gaining their confidence back which they seems to be lost in the mid of 2009 as they are playing like what they are supposed to be. In the 2nd One Day international played at SCG, Australia thrashed Pakistan by 140 runs to take 2-0 lead in the 5 match one day international series.
After winning the toss nothing went right for Pakistan team as they have leaked too many runs in the first powerplay of Australian innings. Australian opener Shane Watson (69 runs of 71 balls) and Shaun Marsh (41 runs of 60 balls) went on to put superb century stand for the first wicket in just 119 balls.
Pakistan did try their best to get back into the game with some quick wickets in the middle over but late burst from Cameron White (55 runs of 58 balls) and Brad Haddin (27 runs of 14 balls) guided Australian score to 267/6 in 50 overs.
Chasing the target of 268 runs for victory Pakistan began their run chase in dramatic fashion loosing seven of their top order for just 71 runs on the board. Mohammad Yusuf played a lonely hand by making 58 runs of 94 balls which guided Pakistan score to 127 runs in the end.
Only three of the Pakistani batsman able to get into double figure mark rest scorecard looks like a phone number of some country. Mohammad Yusuf (58 runs), Kamran Akmal (16 runs) and Naved-ul-Hasan (27 runs) were the three batters which get into double figure mark.
Shane Watson was declared Player of the Match for his superb allround performance.
